Negotiation's Updates
October 29th, 2023
Since June, we have met with the Employer approximately seven times to work on our outstanding articles and are making small steps to secure a new Collective Agreement that will benefit all members. Negotiations can be lengthy, and one article may consume much time, so the practise can be frustrating and tiring. We will work through the process, although it may be slooowww, but we will get there. We have talked some about money and as always this is a key issue and always the hot point and challenging.
We appreciate your support during this journey, and we ask for your continued solidarity when we return to the table in November.

Further to our last update we are continuing to bargain and are hopeful to stay at the table to complete this process. We are looking for dates throughout the summer to resume our quest for a new collective agreement, keeping in mind that getting dates can be challenging because of vacations and other work commitments.
We are maintaining our pursuit for non-concessional bargaining which will be beneficial to all the members.

Since our last update, we met at 11 different occasions with the Employer. Although we were optimistic in the beginning for promising outcome, it has become evident things are becoming very challenging, and conditionals on the Employer’s wants. There are items on the table that are very important to the membership as per the survey results which we are not willing to give up on. We are returning to the table on May 30 and 31st and these two days will determine the path that we will be taking.

We were at the table two days this week and meetings were cordial and a lot of discussions took place. We are hopefull that at our next round in a week, there may be some movement on signing off articles.
